LONG TERM GOALS

Establish:
 

  1. A comprehensive health care facility with both in/out patient services.
  2. A Christian church.
  3. A Kindergarten, a Primary and Secondary School.
  4. A Bible College.
  5. Capacity building for the local communities on foster family responsibilities to address the issue of the children orphaned out of the war.
  6. Offer community agricultural training for better farming methods.
  7. Sanitation and Hygiene promotion i.e. by sinking bore holes to get water.

 

TARGET POPULATION

  1. Women
  2. Youth (in and out of school)
  3. Orphaned children

 

   

TARGET AREA OF OPERATION
 
Aweil is situated south of South Darfur and has received a considerable number of returnees from both South Darfur and from Khartoum.

The main and most striking emergency needs and constraints for the returnees and resident population in the target Counties:

    • Continuous influx of returnees, depleting local resources.
    • Acute food shortage and malnutrition.
    • Acute lack of potable water.
    • Insufficient schools and health care facilities.
    •  High illiteracy level.
    • The beneficiaries’ livelihood depends heavily on livestock. Frequent disease outbreaks have a devastating impact.
    • Bad roads causing poor access to markets.
