The “Friends of Sudan PrOgram” is as a result of Garang’s trip to Sudan to find his family after 21 years of war that devastated the entire country, including the Muslim north and Christian south.

The years of war left more than two million Sudanese dead and a large quantity of orphans, widows and refugees in neighboring countries.

On January 9, 2005 a Peace Treaty was signed between the north and the south region and currently the people are experiencing tranquility after so many years of war, bombings, deaths and pain.

God has put a strong desire in Garang’s heart to plant a church in southern Sudan, with the development of social and ministerial programs to be able to reach the Aweil community with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Now is the time for the church to reach the needy people of Sudan for Jesus Christ through the “Friends of Sudan Program" in order to complete what the Word of God says, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15

We can use the following items all year-round
